Our Scientific Advisory Board

The Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) is composed of a group of academic researchers, researchers in the humanities, psychosocial sciences, and investment and technology professionals who share the views and guidance required by the Centre’s management to achieve the objectives to the fullest.

 
What our Scientific advisory members do?
  • They develop an understanding of the business, market and industry trends.
  • They provide us with “wise counsel” on issues raised by management, trainers or trainees.
  • They provide us unbiased insights and ideas from a third point-of-view (not involved in the operation of the Centre).
  • They encourage and support the exploration of new business ideas.
  • They act as an advisory resource for executives.
  • They provide social networking platform for the Centre to reach different  categories of people in the society.
  • They encourage the development of a governance framework that enable sustainable growth of the Centre.
  • They monitor the quality of the workshops and training programs provided by the Centre and our performance.
  • They impose challenges to the management and the team of the Centre that could improve the performance.
Who is Our Scientific Advisory Board
Yasmina Azhari
 

Since 1979, Yasmina Azhari, a pioneer businesswoman in Syria, is the founder, owner and general manager of Mira Trading, LLC. Yasmina is also a partner and vice president of Trade Coordination Office (TCO), a shipping agency representing Maersk Shipping Line in Syria till 2017. She recently established a new
company in Dubai Al Yam international commercial brokers together with Dr. Aisha Al Sayyar.

Through great will and driven entrepreneurial charisma, Yasmina made TCO a prosperous business, enjoying loyal clients and a favorable workplace for approximately 90 employees around Syria, a market traditionally dominated by men. Yasmina’s time was focused on Mira Trading that owns and operates malls and super markets in Syria till 2012. .
Following her family’s legacy in commerce, and charitable and community work, she founded Mawred, an NGO aimed at supporting female ventures; a committee to protect Slunfeh and Kassab forests; and was elected a president of Bashaer Al Nour, an NGO that cares for individuals with autism and Down syndrome. She also entered into an arrangement with Tishreen University to train fresh graduates.
She is the 3rd Vice President at the Arab Business Women Council, and a member of the project of United Nation Advisory Council of the Global Charter on Syria, and an expert in Transport field at ESCWA: an important project related to the National Agenda for the future of Syria .Also, Yasmina was nominated as the advisor to the board at “Al AMAN HOLDING” in Syria

In 1999, Yasmina was nominated to be the Honorary Consul of the Netherlands at Lattakia & Tartous as well as a representative of the Dutch organization PUM, which promotes self-sustainability and private sector development. She was the first woman to be on the board of the Lattakia Chamber of Commerce and was elected three times as the Head of Lattakia Business Women’s Committee.

Yasmina has been a board member and advisor for many organizations, was selected 3 times by Forbes as one of the 50 most powerful Arab Business Women and was chosen among the most 100 powerful women in the Arab World by the Arabian Business 3 times as well.
Yasmina was decorated by H.M The Queen of The Netherlands as a “KNIGHT”, and was elected as the best entrepreneur in Syria by E&Y in 2010. .
In 2013 Yasmina was decorated by the Silver Dove international Award in Moscow.
Yasmina was awarded in Ajman/UAE as the most active business woman in Civil Society 2015.
In The Hague, The Netherlands, during the month of February 2017: Yasmina was awarded as the “Iconic Businesswoman of the decade” during the Women Economic Forum EU.
Due to the civil war in Syria, she left the country in 2012 and came to UAE where she established Al Yam International Commercial Brokers 2014 and has a strong network of 30000 parties around the world following up opportunities thru her company in Dubai. In 2017 the company’s license was changed and Al Yam International became “Commercial Brokers”.

Recently in 2018, Yasmina was appointed as a Chairman for” Syrian Saudi Company for Touristic Investments Ltd “the owner of Four Seasons Hotel in Syria.

IMAN MORADI

Resident of Italy 43 years old

Academic qualifications :

1- Nanotechnology, Cafoscari university/Italy

2- Protein structures, Birkbeck college, London university/UK

3- Electron microscopy, Isfahan university of medical sciences

4- Laboratory sciences, Isfahan university of medical sciences

Current positions :

1- Director of Nanotechnology consultancy and development center in Italy.

2- A member of international association of Nanotechnology, New York, USA.

Passed positions :

1- 2007-2010: Managing director of International Nanotech Bridge Group , to establish the Nanotech Valley (Owner of intellectual property) as the first free zone of Nanotechnology in the world , in Dubai ,UAE .

2- 2007-2010: Executive manager of Chemica company (ALOTHMAN) in Dubai , UAE .

3- 2008- Research director of Tabyeen research center in Dubai , UAE ; With a mission of leading the research projects to coming out from the research phase toward a solid technology .

4- 2003-2004 : Technology development manager of Newline measuring equipment trading company , in Dubai , UAE .

5- 1998-2004: Director of electron microscopy unit of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, and teaching the related techniques to Phd and Ms students.

Patents :

1- 2010: Patent titled ” antiradioactive fabric and process for manufacturing said fabric” in the field of Nanotechnology .Patent number : VI2010A000197 .

2- 2011: Patent titled ” Method of obtaining a metalic surface for culturing the tissues and cells with high attraction ” in the field of Nanotechnology . Patent number : VI2011A000166 .
